15 companies with the best HR teams of 2023

ADP

If the last three years have taught employers anything, it's the importance of their HR teams. Addressing everything from public health concerns to economic downturns, HR teams have been non-stop tested since 2020 — and some rose to the challenge better than others.

Work culture reputation platform Comparably ranked 50 companies with the best HR departments of 2023 through anonymous employee surveys conducted from Feb. 2022 to Feb. 2023. Ratings were based on nearly 20 work culture metrics, such as compensation, career growth opportunities, leadership, and work-life balance. Employees reflected on just how effective their HR teams were at cultivating an engaging, compassionate culture.

"My team is always willing to lend a hand, help out and support me," says one employee at AT&T. "I have worked for some of the largest organizations globally and the AT&T culture is by far my favorite."

Small and large companies alike were considered — companies just needed a minimum of 15 employee participants from the HR department to qualify for the survey.
