Putting more time, effort and resources into creating equitable companies was a top line item for organizations across industries this year. But some organizations thrived, while others fell behind.

Workplace insights website Comparably announced its annual ranking of the best companies for women employees in 2022, based on millions of anonymous ratings from female employees who reviewed their companies over the past year, from November 27, 2021 through November 29, 2022.

Comparably used a number of metrics from compensation (including salaries, bonuses and raises) to career growth and mentorship opportunities to build their ranking. The list also takes into  account leadership and work environment, including employees' views on  work-life balance, coworkers and perks and benefits.

RingCentral came in first this year as the best company for women workers, replacing IBM, which dropped out of the top 10 compared to last year. Notably, Google and Microsoft fell off the list in 2022, while Snap, Instacart and Booking.com made the list for the first time.
