Paychex is making the return to work safer with vaccine tracking technology

Amidst all of the vaccine mandates, payroll service company PayChex is making the return to work as organized and safe as possible for employers.

The platform recently added a functionality to its existing Paychex Flex platform to help businesses track the vaccine status of their employees, according to a press release. Employers can now send notifications to employees requesting that they upload documentation to confirm their vaccination status — immunized employees can upload a digital copy of their vaccination card, while unvaccinated employees can upload ongoing COVID-19 test results.

This tech company is creating a one-stop-shop for voluntary benefits

Americans are floundering in a sea of options when it comes to choosing insurance plans that offer enough coverage without breaking the bank.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that the average healthcare plan has sizable gaps that can cost consumers thousands of dollars. To close these coverage gaps, employees are turning to supplemental insurance for disability, accident, critical illness and life insurance policies. Tech company Overalls is helping employees navigate these choices through a new one-stop shop for non-medical insurance protection, taking the decision-making aspect out of the equation and designing a customized mix of insurance protections based on a user’s priorities and financial means.

How many years do you have left? This life span calculator aims to make users healthier

Vitality, a health solutions company that works to drive behavioral changes for workforces around the world, has launched a health span calculator to show its members how many healthy years they have in comparison to their total life span. From there, Vitality presents the best actions to take and sets weekly goals to increase a person’s number of healthy years.

Vitality’s platforms provide health-related prompts and allow users to self-report habit changes and submit exercise data from their smartphone or watch. In turn, users can rack up currency that goes toward their healthcare needs, or gift cards.

This smartphone app offers community, resources and support for caregivers

Ianacare, launched in 2018, aims to deliver holistic support to caregivers, and is available to consumers via a smartphone app and can also integrate with employer-provided benefits packages.

A social-networking function allows users to invite friends and family members, who can make themselves available to offer support, whether via car rides, meal prep, or child care. For caregivers whose employers provide Ianacare as a benefit, the app can help employees understand and utilize existing resources offered within their benefits plan, and access personalized coaches for human-to-human advice.
