Industry practitioners in the spotlight

Two seasoned employee benefit executives recently took a bow, one earning a promotion and the other recognition.

After 30 years under the Unum Group corporate umbrella, Al Riggieri is now the insurer’s senior vice president and chief actuary. His career began with the Paul Revere Life Insurance Company, a key brand for Unum where he previously held a vice president and actuary post since 1998. Riggieri is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and member of the Academy of Actuaries.

Patricia A. Moore, a benefits consultant with specialty brokerage Alliant Insurance Services, Inc., was named Woman of the Year for 2010 by the Los Angeles Association of Health Underwriters for a combination of professional achievements and charitable activities.

After more than 20 years in the industry, she joined Alliant’s employee benefits practice in 2010 following stints at Humana and ING. Moore co-founded with her daughter, Madison, Chores-4-Charity, which helps children raise money for charities of their choice by doing chores for neighbors, friends and relatives.
