Sixty-nine percent of working mothers plan to remain out of work to care for their children, according to a survey by TopResume.

Workplace norms are still rooted in traditional gender roles, and it’s up to employers to put a stop to the stigmas and stereotypes surrounding working mothers.

Employers must create tangible policies and workplace norms that create affirming and supportive environments.

“The separation has curtailed some of the more difficult conversations [employees] want to do in person versus over Zoom,” says Paul Wolfe, head of global HR at Indeed.

Creating equality is about how benefits are presented, not just what is offered.

The pandemic pushed women out of the workforce. As job opportunities boom, employers will have to compete to win them back.

In spite of social justice efforts throughout the pandemic, LGBTQ representation and acceptance is still difficult to find in the workplace.

“I want to personally apologize to anyone who may have been hurt or offended by my comments,” Snowflake CEO Frank Slootman said.

“There's a lot of different family journeys and people need support to get there,” says Paris Wallace, CEO of Ovia Health.
