Payroll platform Gusto contracts with day care app

Kinderlime — an app for managing independent day care centers — enlisted digital platform Gusto to provide all its payroll services.

As a benefit and payroll provider, Gusto serves 60,000 small companies (under 200 employees) in the United States. The platform’s recent partnership with Kinderlime — which services over 5,000 individual day care centers nationwide — marks Gusto’s first contract with a large-scale operation, according to a company spokesperson.

“It’s our first concentrated entry into education and education technology, but we see it as a natural fit because day care centers are essentially small businesses,” says Rick Chen, spokesperson for Gusto. “Our features make it easier for caregivers to focus on the kids, instead of bookkeeping.”

Day care facilities and schools use Kinderlime to manage attendance, progress reports, parent conferences and other educational functions. Gusto gives Kinderlime users a streamlined system for managing billing, employee benefits and compensation, in addition to time cards.

“Running a business is very complex, but our integrated system makes the process much easier,” Chen says.

Gusto is able to offer employer-sponsored benefits like medical, vision, dental, life and disability insurance. It also offers voluntary options like commuter benefits, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts and 401(k).
