Tech staffing firm marks 10th year in business with ESOP

REDMOND, Wash. — Redmond, Wash.-based Protingent, Inc. recently marked its 10th anniversary with an employee stock ownership plan to reward employees for their contributions to the technology staffing firm’s success.

After carefully considering a wide range of alternatives, owners Donn Harvey and Tim Bruce came to the conclusion that the ESOP was an ideal strategy for the company and its employees.

“I feel very fortunate that the last 10 years have been a period of excellent performance company wide,” noted Harvey in a prepared statement. “From now on, technology businesses and engineering professionals will be working directly with an owner to find the area's top talent and available positions while the competition will simply be working with an employee.”

He also indicated that the establishment of an ESOP is an important step toward realizing one of his objectives upon starting the company – specifically, broad and meaningful employee ownership wherein those who make a meaningful contribution are rewarded with an economic interest in the business.

Added Bruce: “The overriding benefit of an ESOP is that it allows employees to participate in the company’s growth and success. I am confident that the ESOP will be instrumental in attracting and retaining the best recruiting and sales staff available.”
