Dow Jones & Co. announced this week that it has launched an employee resource group for its LGBT workers.
The group aims to “foster conversation and feedback on Dow Jones coverage of LGBTQ issues; encourage recruitment, mentoring and advancement of LGBTQ employees; host panels, volunteer programs and gatherings at offices across the company; represent Dow Jones at conferences and events; communicate with the company on policies that affect LGBTQ employees; [and] promote an inclusive and diverse workplace,” according to the internal memo.
Although Pride@DJ informally launched two months ago, the group has members from offices in New York, Washington, D.C., London and Hong Kong. The group is welcoming new members.
“Promoting diversity and championing inclusion is a major priority for Dow Jones. We are committed to fostering and developing a highly successful and welcoming workplace that provides the best possible opportunities for all of our employees,” the company said in a statement. “Pride@DJ will bring together lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer employees across Dow Jones, and provide a community of professional growth and support.”
Pride@DJ joins Women@DJ as the second employee resource group at the company.
